Couples Counseling

Better conversations. Stronger connection.

Our Approach

Couples counseling at The Oaks isn’t about deciding who’s right or who’s wrong. It’s about understanding the patterns that have developed between you and learning how to respond to each other differently.

Our therapists take an integrative approach, drawing from Gottman Method principles, family systems, attachment-based, person-centered, and experiential approaches depending on the needs of each couple. We’ll look beyond the argument itself to what’s happening underneath it: the needs that aren’t being communicated, the ways each of you responds when you feel hurt or disconnected, and the patterns that keep pulling you back into the same conversations.
